The all round talent Keith Destiny Waldron..s home are the Caribbean Islands. The Islands Under The Lee such as Trinidad and Tobago are also known as the home of Reggae, Calypso and Steel Pan Music. Destiny..s father was an extraordinary dancer and popular dancing instructor. He loved the women and of course Destiny..s mother.
There was always a spiritual and musical culture in the house, Destiny says. His mother loved singing, and she took her three- year old son to stagings. As Destiny had a wonderful voice people wanted him sing. He grew up in a spiritual and religious atmosphere in the ghetto.
Shaped by his ambit Destiny very soon became interested in the the rights of the poor and supported them by his songs. His numerous songs report about his multifaceted life, love songs, suppression, violence, Black Power and the High Tec Reality with their impact on man.
Destiny attended the Excelsior School of Music in Port of Spain, where he studied canto and playing instruments. Apart from his unique voice he masters various instruments, he composes, stages and writes movies scripts and film music.
Bob Marley and the Rastafary Movement influenced him very early.
When he fell ill in 1979, the performing artist remembered: I remember sleeping with a book on my bed and a pen, writing, writing, always writing.
He thinks of himself as Bob Marley..s spiritual lineage, descendant. But he never copies his way of singing. He is an original artist combined with a style of his own, that..s what his first manager Eddy Ayoung said about him.
One of the recordings was done with musicians of B.B. King in the Ruff Stuff studio in New York. Furthermore Destiny produced a Number of singles, which he also presented in the Trinidatian Broadcast and Television Corporation. There were more performances in Tobago, Barbados, Venezuela, St. Vincent Grenada, SanFrancisco and New York and Europe as Germany, England, Neverland :-), Denmark, Austria.
The audience is intensely affected by Keith destiny Waldron..s tunes, presented ad hoc live and direct on his guitar. They give an impression of extreme musicality and sensibility His groofs at once stimulate arms and hips to take part in dancing. Even hours after such an event the catchy melodies and lyrics accompany you throughout day and night. Destiny himself calls his style Blues, Reggae, Jazz and Pop, you can say cross over.

„Ich schreibe Reggaemusik, um die Menschen zu erbauen, um ihr Leben zu verschönern“ beschreibt Keith Destiny Waldron sein facettenreiches Wirken, das weit mehr umfasst, als lediglich sein Musikerdasein. 1961 in Trinidad geboren entdeckte Keith Destiny Waldron bereits als Dreijähriger seine Liebe zur Musik und zum Gesang, sein erstes eigenes Stück schrieb er im Alter von acht Jahren. Sein Vater war ein begnadeter Tänzer und Tanzlehrer, seine Mutter liebte den Gesang. „Es gab immer spirituelle und musikalische Kultur bei uns zuhause“ erinnert sich Waldron. Er wuchs in ärmlichen Verhältnissen auf dem Land auf und begann bald, sich für die Rechte der Armen einzusetzen und sie durch seine Lieder zu unterstützen. Seine zahlreichen Stücke spiegeln das Leben in all seinen Aspekten wider: Liebe, Unterdrückung, Black Power, die Hightech-Realität mit all Ihren Auswirkungen auf den Menschen und vieles mehr..

Er sieht sich als ein spiritueller Erbe Marleys ohne jedoch seinen Stil zu kopieren. Waldron hat seine eigenen ursprüngliche Richtung zwischen Roots, Reggae, Jazz, Blues und Pop gefunden..
Das erste Album „Higher Meditation“ wurde 1988 vollendet, weitere Longplayer und Singles folgten. Im gleichen Jahr spielte Waldron im Vorprogramm der alten Band Bob Marleys, „The Wailers“. 1995 trat er beim „Aids Walk“ in San Francisco vor 100.000 Zuschauern auf. Inzwischen interessierte sich auch Island Records und Sony Music für den außergewöhnlichen Musiker. 1999 produzierte Waldron sein Album „Heaven help us“ unter Anderem mit Musikern von B.B. King, es folgten Auftritte in der Karibik, Lateinamerika, den USA und Deutschland, wo er mit Band auf Tournee ist. Mit Ehrungen und Erwähnungen in den Zeitschriften "Spotlight", "Tobago News", "Careabeen News" und "RIDDIM" wurde dem Rastaman auch Anerkennung der internationalen Fachpresse zuteil . . .
Waldron versteht sich außerdem als eine Art Kulturbotschafter der Karibik, der Rastaphilosophie und insbesondere seiner Heimat Trinidad. Das Goethe-Institut wurde auf das vielseitige Wirken Waldrons aufmerksam und unterstützt seinen Deutschlandaufenthalt. Waldron veranstaltete einen musikpädagogischen Workshop in Köln mit besonderem Augenmerk auf den Dialog der Kulturen. Insbesondere die historische und kulturelle Entwicklung in der Karibik, Lyrik und das Weltbild der Rastafari-Bewegung, ihre Sprache, Musik und Religion wurden ausführlich beleuchtet..
Keith Destiny Waldron brachte zwei CD's heraus: "Higher Meditation" mit 8 Songs und "Heaven Help Us" mit 12 Songs. Die dritte CD "NO HIDING PLACE" ist gerade erschienen.
„Heaven Help Us", 1999 produziert, wurde unter anderem mit Musikern von B.B. King im Ruff Stuff Studio in New York aufgenommen. Außerdem brachte Destiny etliche Singles heraus, mit denen er auch im trinidaischen Radio und TV auftrat. Es folgten Auftritte in Tobago, Barbados, Venezuela, St. Vincent Grenada, San Fransico (USA), New York, Deutschland, England, Holland, Österreich und Dänemark . . .
Keith Destiny Waldron's Melodien, die er auch mitreißend ad hoc live and direct mit seiner Gitarre präsentieren kann, berühren den Zuhörer zutiefst und zeugen von höchster Musikalität und Sensibilität. Seine Grooves animieren Beine und Hüften sofort zum mittanzen. Noch Stunden nach einem Konzert von Keith Destiny Waldron begleiten einen die eingängigen Melodien und Lyrics durch den Tag bzw. die Nacht. Destiny selbst beschreibt seinen Stil als "Blues, Reggae, Jazz und Pop - you can say, cross over!".
